What to expect and what to do The Marshall Islands are one of the most unique and remote places in the world. Majuro, the capitol, is the location of the airport you’ll fly into and the port where you’ll board KE AMA II. From there the 29 atolls and 5 islands are within an overnight or day sail from one another. Pristine, uninhabited beaches and lagoons offer some of the best snorkeling and diving anywhere plus great beachcombing and shelling. The enormous variety of fish species makes for superb sport fishing. Sea kayaks, a windsurfer, snorkel and fishing gear are onboard and waiting for you. For a true island experience visit WAM, the center dedicated to reviving the building and sailing of traditional outrigger canoes. You can even sail with the students on these hand-built craft that can reach 25 knots. Captain Philip Johnston, a New Zealander, and Chef Naylene Vuurens Smith, a top charter team for 20 years, are your hosts, tour guides and water sports directors. They are happy to be back onboard KE AMA II which they crewed in the Pacific from 2008 to 2010. |
