BLUE
WHALE –
For the Concourse de Chef Ingrid created a colorful summer pasta
seafood salad with caramelized vegetables -- 'Garden by the
Sea.' The judge's comments included “veggies - good crisp”.
Captain Logan Rowell & chef Ingrid Weise did an
excellent job during the entire show and in particular during
the evening yacht hop.
In addition to placing 2nd in the Chef Competition, Ingrid "cooked her socks off" at the yacht
hop. Logan and Ingrid had an assortment of fresh fruit on
board and invited brokers to participate in a fruit sculpture competition with
the winners receiving a prize of a freshly baked Blue
Whale coconut cake -- it was great fun and all were surprised
and pleased to learn of our colleagues imagination and hidden
talent! BLUE WHALE is excellent family yacht and offers both
captain only and captain & chef charter options. |
GADGET – Chef extraordinaire Gisele Lannamann received 1st place in the Chowder Competition for her exquisite scallop chowder with cream shrimp reduction broth & hit of cognac. A stop by GADGET for Gisele's perfectly medium rare tenderloin bites with plum compote was a highlight of the Wednesday evening yacht hop for yachts up to 80’, as was listening to Captain Ken Lannamann talk of his passion for celestial navigation which he enjoys sharing with charter guests. GADGET hosted brokers on board for lunch on Thursday & breakfast on Friday -- the response was overwhelmingly favorable! Attending brokers emailed the following comments about the lunch: "Lunch on board was as always outstanding. ...multi course tasting menu ... gives a great over view of what she can serve and provide on board ... with all of the various plates and presentations. She is an outstanding Chef and both she and Ken are always great to spend time with." ... “Gisele’s cuisine is just outstanding …mega yacht dining on a beautiful Hinckley 64’!” ... "In a word -- outstanding!" ...and “Breakfast was phenomenal” ... More comments

WANDERER – Captain Tom Hampson (x-Ashlana) and chef Tina showed well on this classic Little Harbor 62’with Tom’s expert first hand knowledge of New England especially beautiful “off the beaten path” coves in Maine. Said Captain Hampson: “Camden is a great place to start and finish a charter as it is easy to get to and is very beautiful. I think a very nice trip is Camden Harbor to North Haven Pulpit Harbor, then Dear Isle, Eggemoggen Reach, sail up to Castine, and back to Camden -- these areas are my favorite. The Eggemoggen Reach area is just beautiful with lots of quiet anchorages, one could spend several days just there. Depending on the length of the charter we could also include Rockport …” Brokers shared the following
comments on WANDERER & her crew:
“Wanderer
looked fabulous and I think Tom will do a great job... the
yacht is well maintained … very pretty, excellent condition
... her fabrics are very nice … the boat was kept very clean
...
"crew are delightful for sure … captain seems very nice,
quiet." |
